We have been very busy harvesting almost 7000 pounds of olives this year after having nothing for the last two years. We also have milled 60.5 gallons of olive oil, so we are ecstatic that we have been provided a bounty with no hurricanes or tropical storms. Yippee!
It will be November before the oil is available for purchase. Please take a moment to visit the pictures on the website of the folks who helped us with harvest. We had some people who could only come on weekends but were enthusiastic to be there. In the first days of harvest, our team was complemented by members of the Pensacola Bread and Table Club, a social organization that raises money to provide food to go into school backpacks each year. B&T, along with our crew picked 300 plus pounds in the first few hours of harvest and B&T also helped at the sorting tables before they were hampered by the “Snow Cone Maker” Brooks.
Pictures are provided at www.agirlandanolive.com. While you are on the site, we want to let you know that the site is under construction to improve the ordering process for our oil this year. We want to mention that the process and cost of all products has increased in the last three years since we have had any olive oil available. We all know that inflation has contributed to the increase in labor cost, materials, and supplies except for my pay which remains the same, at zero, but done with lots of love!
This year our largest bottle, 500 mL Will be offered at $40 and our smaller bottle, 250 mL will be $20.
